Registration to ENEN European Nuclear Competition

TASKS AND TOPICS

The task of the participants is to compose a 3-minute video (maximum 4 minutes) introducing a nuclear application. Suggestions for projects include but are not limited to:
·      Energy production

·      History of nuclear science and technology
·      Radioactive waste management and geological disposal
·      Future of nuclear technology
·      Radiation protection
·      Radiation for health
·      History of nuclear science
·      Nuclear in daily life
·      Create a story about nuclear
·      Space research
·      Jobs in nuclear
·      Food preservation

PARTICIPANTS

The competition is open to pupils currently enrolled in secondary schools in European States and their teachers. Each team must be composed by two pupils and one teacher.

15 finalist teams will be invited to attend the nuclear science camp in person in Bologna, Italy.

Date of in person competition: 14-18 July 2025

COMPETITION RULES

Each submission should be:

  1. A video of minimum 3 minutes and maximum 4 minutes introducing a nuclear application.
  2. No more than one video submission per team will be considered
  3. Videos longer than 4 minutes will not be considered.
  4. Preferably in English or when in another language it must have English subtitles.
  5. The video must be unpublished and should not already be present on any social media or video-sharing platform;
  6. The videos must be free of copyrighted materials, such as music, images, and video clips, that may violate or infringe upon the copyright of any person or organization. It is the responsibility of the participants and not of the ENEN to ensure that all contents used in the project is free from copyright.
  7. By submitting the competition material, participants agree to assign to the ENEN the copyright to publish the video or digital media presentation on the ENEN website, social media and other platforms and certify that no other rights have been granted which could conflict with the right hereby given to the ENEN.

 

REGISTRATION FORM AND VIDEO SUBMISSION

Registrations for the competition can be submitted by filling in the registration form on this webpage. Please note that a clear motivation and description of the video is important for the selection procedure. Teams are required to send a link to their videos (minimum 3 minutes and maximum 4 minutes).

The deadline for registration is 31 March 2025.

The Organizing Committee is going to select finalists and inform the applicants by 15 April 2025.

After the submission of the video, no further modifications are allowed. If an infringement of copyright is notified at any stage of the competition, the team will be immediately disqualified.

To share the video via a link, you can follow these simple steps:

Upload the video to a video-sharing platform: Participants can use services like YouTube, Vimeo, or Google Drive. Ensure that the video’s privacy settings allow it to be viewed through the link without needing specific permissions.

Generate a shareable link:

  • YouTube/Vimeo: Upload the video and copy the link from your browser. Ensure the video is set to public or unlisted, so the jury can access it without issues.
  • Google Drive: Upload the video, right-click on the file, and select “Get shareable link” (or similar). Set permissions to “Anyone with the link can view.”

Paste the link into the registration form: Once the link is generated, paste it into the designated space on the registration form on the website.

Note: Please verify that the link works correctly and that the video is accessible without restrictions to avoid any issues during the selection process.

FINALISTS

Fifteen teams (composed of two students and one accompanying teacher) selected as finalists (by the jury composed of experts from the ENEN2plus partner organizations) will be given the opportunity to present their project live at the Fourth European Nuclear Competition and nuclear science camp on 14-18 July 2025.

  • The finalist teams must participate in person. Each team (of three members) must include an adult professional teacher.
  • Each team will have fifteen minutes to:
  • introduce itself and the school of origin,
  • the topic and content of the video, the reasons of the choice and the video development process
  • explain what difficulties were faced in the realization of the video and each team member contribution.
  • Answer any questions from the jury
  • An international jury will select the winning teams and give several monetary awards.
