Mattia Baldoni
Mattia BALDONI is the Communications Officer at the European Nuclear Society (ENS), the Learned Society consisting of professionals in the nuclear sector. Based in Brussels, ENS’ main goal is to promote and advance science and engineering related to the peaceful uses of nuclear technologies. ENS is also a long-standing partner of ENEN and it is participating in the ENEN2Plus project, leading the Task 3.4. (Setting up networking cross-YG and cross-professional organizations).
Walter Ambrosini
Walter AMBROSINI is Full Professor in Nuclear Plants at the University of Pisa, Italy. His Research interests involve the field of Nuclear Reactor Thermal-hydraulics: Heat and mass transfer, System code use and development for safety analyses of nuclear reactors, Flow stability, Heat transfer to fluids at supercritical pressure, CFD and numerical modelling of thermal-hydraulic systems. His teaching activities include:
Computational Thermal Fluid-dynamics, Single and two-phase thermal-hydraulics, Numerical methods for nuclear reactors, Nuclear Safety. He has been President of the Research Doctorate in Nuclear Engineering in Pisa (2008-2016), President of the MSc in Nuclear Engineering in Pisa (2011-2018), President of the European Nuclear Education Network (2013-2016), Member of the ASN Commission for Energetics and Nuclear Engineering (2018-2021), Present Member of the CDs of CIRTEN and of the Associazione Italiana Nucleare (AIN). His relevant Memberships: AIN, ENS, ANS, ASME.
Lois S. Tovey
Lois TOVEY has a BSc in Ceramic Science & Engineering and a PhD in Materials from the University of Leeds. She has extensive experience in project management and business development within the nuclear sector. She has managed large research consortia working on nuclear decommissioning, waste management and advanced fuels and has worked in a start-up providing instrumentation and testing services for the nuclear industry. She is currently a visiting researcher at the University of Leeds where she is involved with education and outreach activities.
Chiara Telloli
Chiara TELLOLI is geologist working in ENEA (Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development) in the Traceability Laboratory related to monitoring and analyses of radioisotopes based on the safety and security of human health and environment. She is involved in several international projects with EURATOM2020 network.
Minodora Apostol
Minodora APOSTOL is a senior researcher at the Institute for Nuclear Research (RATEN ICN) Pitesti, Romania. She is national coordinator for ENEN2plus project, a member of Nucleareurope’s Workforce, Skills & Education Working Group, and leads the Education and Training Task Force within FALCON Consortium. In Romania’s national research program on Advanced nuclear reactors and fuel cycles, she manages the Development of capacity, competence and expertise for innovative nuclear reactors and modular reactors development and implementation topic. Throughout her career, she has coordinated work packages in both national and European projects, and actively supports competence building activities for the ALFRED infrastructure and in the field of Nuclear Knowledge Management. She also serves as a scientific advisor for students preparing bachelor’s and master’s theses.
Gianfranco CARUSO is Full Professor in Nuclear Engineering at Sapienza, University of Rome. He is a member of the Scientific Council of ICHMT and representative member of Sapienza in the Governing Board of CIRTEN. He is currently the group leader in ongoing national and international projects related to nuclear topics and the reference person for Sapienza research activities in the framework of the EUROFUSION project. His research interest includes: advanced heat transfer and thermal-hydraulics in nuclear plants; magneto-hydrodynamics; two-phases heat transfer and flow; design of components and systems for energy production plants.
Mirela Nitoi
Senior researcher at RATEN ICN (Romanian TSO), with a PhD in Physics, Mirela Nitoi is a highly renowned expert in nuclear safety, reliability, ageing and lifetime management, as well as in licensing activities for advanced reactors. She is coordinating all RATEN ICN contributions to ETSON (European TSO Network), being also responsible with the Junior Staff Program. She acts as RATEN representative for many international expert working groups, as Evaluator Expert for National Research Projects Calls, and as Lector and Invited expert for many scientific and competence creating events.
Currently, she leads the RATEN “International Cooperation” R&D Program and several research projects devoted to nuclear safety.
Elena Macerata
Elena MACERATA, PhD, is Assistant Professor at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. She is currently the group leader in the ongoing European projects PATRICIA and TRANSPARANT, dedicated to the advanced recycling of spent nuclear fuel. Her research interest includes nuclear fuel cycle, hydrometallurgical processes for advanced recycling of spent nuclear fuel, application of Deep Eutectic Solvents in nuclear reprocessing, radiation chemistry of extracting systems for Actinides .
Jakob Luyten
Jakob holds a teaching degree and a Master of Science in Chemistry from the Catholic University of Leuven. His career includes experience as a lecturer at Avans University of Applied Sciences and as a training specialist in the Learning & Development team at Sanofi Geel. Currently, he is a member of the SCK CEN Academy at the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre. His main activities are training of professionals, providing policy support and the coordination of outreach activities.
Gabriel PavelGabriel PAVEL has been Executive Director of the European Nuclear Education Network for two years. He has completed 2 E&T projects and has 6 projects under implementation. Experience: 16y in the nuclear sector. University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania (16y); Lecturer on nuclear engineering, radiation protection, non-power applications of ionizing radiation. 5 E&T projects and 24 projects with industry.
